Dr. Goldberg comments on mail-order genetic tests

A KGW News article reports that “The FDA could soon be cracking down on mail-order genetic tests -- including those that claim they can find out which sport your child will excel at by testing his or her DNA.”

The question of whether genetic testing of certain genes can determine how fast or strong a person is has become a hot topic lately.

In the article, Linn Goldberg, MD, Professor, Department of Medicine, said “There's not really evidence behind this product.”

Dr. Goldberg is Head of the Division of Health Promotion and Sports Medicine at OHSU.
