In 2005, Department of Dermatology residents developed awards to show their appreciation for faculty members and community (Affiliate) faculty members who have supported their education efforts above and beyond what was expected. The awards have been given annually at the end of the (fiscal) year at the Graduation Banquet since that time, and are displayed on a plaque in the department.

The 2011 Dermatology faculty award recipients are:

• Faculty Teaching Award: Andrew Blauvelt, MD, Professor
• Community Faculty Teaching Award: Patricia Norris, MD, Assistant Professor

Dr. Blauvelt previously received the award in 2007. It was Dr. Norris’ first time to receive the award.
