June 1: First ‘Integrative Oncology’ conference offers massage, acupuncture, more

WHAT:
The free inaugural Integrative Oncology Conference – sponsored by the Knight Cancer Institute’s Patient and Family Support Service – will introduce integrative supportive care services available to patients and caregivers.
Attendees can:
- Learn how integrative therapies work in tandem with standard cancer treatment methods like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to help ease side effects, enhance coping strategies and support patients holistically.
- Hear from a team of Knight Cancer Institute providers who will discuss the research and evidence behind integrative therapies and how they can help patients and caregivers.
- Experience some of these therapies first-hand, including acupuncture, massage, mindfulness exercises, naturopathic medicine, yoga, writing groups and more.
- Ask questions of qualified integrative oncology professionals.
WHO:
All patients, caregivers and families are welcome to come. Attendees do not have to be OHSU patients.
