Lead screening guidelines for children, pregnant women changed by task force

Researchers at the Pacific Northwest Evidence Based Practice Center have determined that current clinical prediction tools and patient questionnaires are not effective in identifying the risk of potential blood lead exposure in the children and pregnant women. The study, published in JAMA, informs new recommendations from the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force.
