Following a prenatal diagnosis of hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and a series of surgical procedures, a young Doernbecher patient is thriving. Erin Madriago, M.D. says, “Having the ability to diagnose an unborn child with a congenital heart condition as early as 16 weeks’ gestation allows the health care team and the family to prepare for the road that lies ahead, both medically and mentally.”
