Tram report cites inadequate hardware in panel plunge

An independent engineering report, commissioned by the Portland Bureau of Transportation, concludes that wind conditions and decorative design likely caused a panel to come loose and fall from The Portland Aerial Tram on Dec. 4, 2018. Maintenance was not a factor in the incident.

Roger Chou, M.D., is quoted in a story clarifying 2016 nationwide guidelines for prescribing opioids. “I give talks on this stuff all the time and people will say something about how it’s terrible that the guideline says you have to taper everyone. I’ll ask them, ‘Have you actually read the guidelines?’ And the answer is no,” he says.
